BODY AS CONSCIOUSNESS

What is Body?

Pema Chodron writes: “It’s also helpful to realize that this very body that we have, with its aches and its pleasures, is exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake, fully alive.”

These anatomy and related courses are embodied explorations combining the science and essence of each topic in an experiential way. We begin with practices to land our sensing presence awareness in the body in order to bear witness to how we come into being, develop, function, and evolve. Each class progresses through a spiral balance of didactic information using teaching models, slide presentations, and demonstrations with experiential exercises that integrate and further deepen our understanding.

The “relationship” of our bodies as consciousness, studying our “earth and cosmos” of existence, is fascinating not only on a personal level. It is relevant for any bodywork, movement, meditation, somatic, and psychotherapeutic practice. Or for anyone who is interested in their own body!

My teaching style encompasses multiple levels and depth of information while also addressing the different background of each participant – there is something here for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners.

There is no “end” to the study of our bodies of existence. Join me for the sheer fun and awe of it! The practical application of it will find its own way with you.

"The same stream of life that runs through my veins runs through the world in rhythmic measure. It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth into numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean cradle of life and death in ebb and flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life and my pride is from the life throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment."
 -Rabindranath Tagore
